Opportunities for Students

Our Climate mobilizes students and young people to advocate for fair and effective carbon pricing policy through the Put a Price on It campaign. There are three concrete ways for students to plug into the campaign. Join us!

1. Apply to be a Fellow. Our Climate's Fellowship Program is a structured program in which participants lead a campaign for carbon pricing in their communities. Fellows give 5-10 hours/week, in which they gain experience coordinating student carbon pricing initiatives, rally public support for a national and state carbon pricing policy, and directly engage with lawmakers through lobbying actions. Fellows receive support from Our Climate and Citizens Climate Lobby staff as they work to achieve the goals of the campaign. Fellowship applications are now accepted for the Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters.

Read the complete description and apply for the fellowship here! Our Program Coordinator will follow up for a resume and set up a short interview, if you seem to be a good fit for the position. The application period for the Summer Fellowship will close on May 1, 2017. You can email our Program Coordinator with any questions at cassidy@ourclimate.us

2. Join our action team. Join a network of students leaders from across the country who are working to #PutAPriceOnIt. You'll be added to our listserv for occasional updates, included in our Facebook group, receive weekly tasks that are completely optional, but give you an opportunity to work on the most important climate fight of our time.

3. Become a field representative. Similarly to the Action Team, becoming a Field Rep allows you to join a network of carbon pricing champions across the country organizing on their campuses and in their community -- but it's slightly more of a commitment. We form a relationship to figure out the best and most effective way for you to get involved. Maybe that's lobbying, organizing, art, education, research etc. This is good for people who want to be a leader, but also need to be flexible because they are already really involved with other things. Most students give 2-3 hours a week, but maybe one week you have finals and can't give any and the next you want to do 5+? Totally fine.

If you are interested in joining the Action Team or becoming a Field Rep, please email Tom at Tom@theclimatesolution.com. Let's #PutAPriceOnIt!
