WELCOMING NEW TEAMS OF FELLOWS FROM COAST-TO-COAST
We are excited to be on-boarding new teams of dedicated Fellows in Washington, Oregon, New York, and Massachusetts, all of whom will be working to win ambitious and equitable state-level policy in 2019. We're also welcoming our first cohort of Field Representatives in Florida. Spring Fellows and Field Reps will organize outreach events, publish media pieces, and creatively advocate for policies to protect our future. Visit our website soon to learn more about this impressive crew!
NEW OPPORTUNITY ALERT: JOIN OUR NATIONAL FIELD REP TEAM
Field Representatives will spend 3-5 hours a week during the Spring Semester advocating for fair and science-based climate policy. This educational and supportive arrangement is designed to build the strong and diverse coalition of leaders needed to win an equitable price on carbon. Field Reps will gain experience coordinating student climate policy initiatives, rallying public support for carbon pricing, and directly engaging with lawmakers. Students interested in working on state or federal level policy are encouraged to apply. Learn more and apply here!

LAWMAKERS ARE GOING TO BE HEARING FROM US!
50 committed to attending Massachusetts Lobby Day. See you there?
On January 23rd, students from all over Massachusetts will throng the statehouse at a critical moment when representatives have the chance to support important bills. Join us and ask your reps to co-sponsor Rep. Jennifer Benson's carbon pricing bill, which will steer the economy clear of polluting fossil fuels while protecting vulnerable communities. Rep. Benson shared some of her key insights on the bill during this interview with Our Climate Fellow Patrick Wang. To participate, RSVP on the Facebook event and by clicking here. To attend a training before the event or if you have any questions, email email@example.com.
Join us in Oregon for the biggest Lobby Day ever!
Join us on February 6th in Salem, Oregon, to send lawmakers an important message: passing a well-designed Clean Energy Jobs bill is necessary to protect our climate, hold big polluters accountable, and create family-wage jobs for Oregonians across the state.
No matter what part of Oregon you're from, we need you there to keep clean energy and climate action front and center this year in Salem.
We’ll train you, feed you (delicious food), and pair you with others as you visit your Representative and Senator and tell them why Clean Energy Jobs will benefit our state and our climate. RSVP today!
You guessed it... NY Renews is hosting a Lobby Day too!
Join Our Climate and NY Renews for a Climate, Jobs, and Justice Lobby Day in Albany on February 5th. You'll have the opportunity to speak with your State Senator and Assembly Member and tell them why we must pass the Climate and Community Protection Act in 2019. We want NY to lead the way to 100% renewable energy, create thousands of good, green jobs, and invest in communities hit first and worst by climate change. Free buses and carpools will be arranged from around the state, and lunch will be served. Please register and let our NY State Director, Nicole, know if you plan on attending at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Last but not least: Hold polluters accountable in Virginia on January 25th
In partnership with Chesapeake Climate Action Network, Our Climate is organizing an advocacy day to hold polluters accountable in Virginia. Students will meet with representatives from Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Warrenton in their capitol offices. These meetings are crucial for showing our elected officials that young constituents are paying attention--and not going to let fossil fuel lobbyists win the day. Email Riley Place at email@example.com if you're interested in joining us!
*Please note: direct lobbying activities are supported by Our Climate's Policy Fund. Please consider making a donation today so we can do more of this critical work!
BIG PLANS FOR 2019
