Over the last few years, Our Climate has led young people through rigorous Fellowships through leadership development and policy advocacy. We’re eager to share our knowledge and our best trainings with new faces and energize young people as they take action on climate in 2020.
Our Climate is excited to announce that we are holding a series of Climate Policy Camps in the summer of 2019. These camps will provide critical training to stop the climate crisis, hold legislators accountable, and advance ambitious climate policy.
The camp curriculum will cover the ins and outs of climate policy and advocacy, while inviting participants to share their stories—and desire for bold climate action—through creative projects. Each project will compile students’ stories to make a larger statement about the need to act meaningfully on climate change.
The objectives of the Climate Policy Camps are:
- Provide a multi-day deep dive on critical climate advocacy knowledge and skills: storytelling, organizing, climate policy, and lobbying
- Give youth climate leaders the chance to network, collaborate, and coordinate.
- Build a collaborative Creative Project--an art installation, a video, a storybook, a community or legislator facing presentation--that builds unity and momentum
