Empower the next generation of climate leaders

Support Our Climate’s Spring 2018 Fellows

Our Climate's Fellowship Program provides rising environmental activists the opportunity to lead a campaign for carbon pricing in their communities. Fellows gain experience coordinating student carbon pricing initiatives, rallying public support for a national and state carbon pricing policy, and directly engaging with lawmakers through lobbying actions. Since the start of our national Put A Price On It campaign in 2016, the fellowship program:

  • Trained and empowered 95 student fellows
  • Worked with students in 130 schools around the country
  • Held 11 webinars with partners such as the Power Shift Network and Environmental Defense Fund
  • Garnered University President endorsements of carbon pricing in 35 schools

Student Stories

Sarah Fadem

It's hard to believe that Sarah, a former Fellow and current Northeast Field Organizer, only joined the team a year ago. In that time, Sarah has coordinated three art installations, a college president endorsement initiative, amplified student support for carbon pricing in Vermont and Massachusetts, AND coordinated bringing 200 students to the D.C. People's Climate March.

Arjun Viray

Current Fellow Arjun shares why he is involved in the carbon pricing movement: "As a student in environmental science I know that greenhouse gas emissions have induced manmade climate change. Implementing equitable carbon pricing pushes dirty industries to reduce their carbon emissions and provides monetary support for communities most impacted by climate change."
